For a decorative finish, to minimise bright sunshine, or to frame your windows, curtains provide a room with a feeling of comfort and elegance, with the added bonus of helping to prevent fading of upholstered furniture and retaining warmth during winter.
There are many things to consider when deciding on curtains, such as style, colour and pattern and choosing them can sometimes be more difficult than anticipated!! The right choice will give your home a new, refreshed feel, and we are happy to guide you throughout the process to ensure the design, style and colours will suit your home. Our made to measure curtain service offers you a wide range of traditional and contemporary fabrics to choose from, all handmade and finished with the header and lining of your choice. We offer the full range of headers, including the traditional decorative look of pencil and pinch pleat and for a more contemporary feel, there is the option of eyelets, which are available in a range of finishes and sizes.
To complement your curtains we offer a range of Curtain poles, pelmets, tassels and tie-backs, and to add that perfect finishing touch, co-ordinating table, bed runners and cushions are all available.
We will quote on fullness of curtains dependant on your requirements rather than the ‘standard’ fullness that some suppliers insist on. This can greatly influence the cost of your curtains, whilst still achieving the desired finish.
Pencil Pleat, so called due to the gather at the top of the curtain resembling a row of pencils, is still one of the most popular of the traditional decorative headings for curtains. They are available with a variety of depth heading tapes and can be used with all types of track and pole.
Permanently sewn-in pleats, in double or triple tightly pinched pleats for a more stylish and tailored look. These can be used with all types of track and pole.
A smart, easy to dress curtain style. Eyelets are a smart looking alternative for your curtains and are suitable for all fabrics. Equally spaced across the curtains, the eyelets slide directly on to the curtain pole, eliminating the need for curtain rings and hooks, giving a simple but stylish look. Eyelets are available in a variety of sizes and finishes.
The choice of design of your curtains will be specific to the room they are intended for and with this in mind, the following points must be considered:
* Colour of fabric. Bold or muted? Dark or light?
* Pattern or plain fabric.
* Weight of the fabric.
* Fullness of the finished curtain.
* Lining - If needed, standard, thermal or blackout?
* Additional items - Hold backs, tie backs, pelmet/valance, cushions, runners, lamp shades?
We have a huge choice of curtain poles and tracks, from standard, simple tracks right through to bespoke, decorative poles, which can be hand painted to your exact colour specifications. Call in to our showroom to view examples of our ranges.
